The number of people dying from hunger and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip is increasing daily. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, five more Palestinians died of starvation in the last 24 hours.
According to official estimates, since October 7, 2023, 404 people have died due to hunger and food shortages. The fact that there are 141 children among them further demonstrates the severity of the situation.
On August 22, 2024, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the level of hunger in Gaza reached its highest level - stage 5. Since this announcement, 126 more people, including 26 children, have died of starvation.
As a result of the strict blockade carried out by Israel, the closure of borders, and constant military attacks, the shortage of food, drinking water, and medicine in the region has sharply increased. International organizations and human rights defenders accuse Israel of "using hunger and thirst as a weapon."
