A 130-year-old woman, Huwaydo Umarova (Toshmatova), living in the Buvayda district of Fergana region, has officially been recognized as the oldest person in Uzbekistan’s history, the Ministry of Justice reported.
According to the information, during the campaign “No person will remain without documents,” conducted on the initiative of the ministry, it was revealed in the “Qoraqum” neighborhood of the district that Huwaydo grandmother’s date of birth had not been recorded in documents.
Based on the claim submitted by the Buvayda district Justice Department, the inter-district civil court of Kokand held an on-site hearing and confirmed that Umarova (Toshmatova) Huwaydo was born on January 1, 1895, in Buvayda district.
Thus, grandmother Huwaydo is now officially recognized as the oldest person in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Justice noted that she may also be entered into the Guinness World Records as the oldest person in the world.
It should be recalled that earlier there had been reports about Huwaydo grandmother being 130 years old, but there was no official evidence. Now, with the court’s decision, this information has gained legal confirmation. We will continue to follow the developments.
