Colossal Biosciences raised over $120 million to implement the project, bringing the company's total funding to $555 million. The market value of the startup is estimated at 10.3 billion dollars. In the coming years, it is planned to build a special center for the study of birds and genetic research in the state of Texas.
This startup had previously gained widespread attention by reviving the "terrible wolf." Scientists have created a much larger new species by combining samples taken from fossilized remains with the genes of modern gray wolves. As a result of this experiment, animals 20-25 percent larger than modern wolves were created.
