According to UNICEF (UN Children's Fund), more than 25 injured or premature babies in incubators in Gaza need to be urgently evacuated. According to the organization, there are difficulties in finding a safe place, as the city has once again become a battlefield.
This call came after Israel's armed attacks intensified and fired on Al Helo hospital. Tanks have been placed around the hospital, and babies lying in the incubators are also at risk.
According to UNICEF representative Ricardo Pires, the evacuation of these babies will require a special oxygen supply and the use of homemade wheelchairs, but the evacuation itself poses a significant risk. In this process, newborns may face the risk of infection, temperature fluctuations, or insufficient feeding.
According to the organization, there are only places for a few babies in the hospital's incubators, and it is very difficult to find access to protective zones from areas where evacuation is not convenient. More infants are placed in incubators, and in this case, they may not be able to be fully cared for. Doctors under the organization continue to search for ways to improve this situation.
As a result, citizens and humanitarian organizations are required not only to carry out evacuation work, but also to take personal responsibility for the expansion of incubators and the introduction of modern medicine.
