UN: Humanitarian workers in Gaza at risk, destruction intensifies

The United Nations (UN) reports that the situation in Gaza is worsening due to Israel's ongoing air and ground attacks. Large-scale destruction has occurred in populated areas, resulting in numerous casualties. This was announced by the UN Secretary-General's press secretary, Stefan Dujarric, at a daily press conference.

According to Dujarric, UN humanitarian aid workers are reporting a sharp deterioration in the situation in northern Gaza. Israel's continuous and powerful bombing is causing civilian casualties and the destruction of residential buildings. At the same time, the safety of humanitarian workers remains at great risk.

According to reports, on October 3rd, another Israeli airstrike killed one humanitarian stationed at a bus stop in front of a hospital, and four others were seriously injured. Since October 8, at least 562 aid workers have been killed in Gaza, 376 of whom were UN personnel. These figures show how great a threat they pose to the UN's humanitarian mission.
