A young man died less than seven days after starting his military service.

A tragic incident occurred at a border service unit located in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. A young soldier, recently conscripted for mandatory military service, died less than a week after beginning his duty. This was reported by “Tengrinews”.

According to the information, on September 27, 2025, a young man named Nurasyl Anuar was sent to serve in the “Karasai” border detachment. A week later, his relatives received the heartbreaking news — the young man had passed away.

The family learned about his death only on the morning of October 5. For them, this news became a real shock. Nurasyl’s relatives remember him as a healthy and lively young man.

“We didn’t want to let him go — our hearts were uneasy. But he said with pride that he wanted to serve his homeland. Nurasyl considered military service as his civic duty and a matter of honor,” said the soldier’s family.

According to preliminary information, the cause of Nurasyl’s death might have been meningitis. However, the family does not believe this diagnosis. They emphasize that before joining the army, he was completely healthy, and they had not been informed of any illness.

“Since early morning, we have not been allowed to see the body. They are giving us different excuses and sending us elsewhere,” the boy’s aunt told reporters.

The relatives demand an impartial and thorough investigation to establish all circumstances and take necessary actions. They suspect that the incident was not accidental and are calling for justice.

“Nurasyl was kind, sincere, and pure-hearted. He believed in justice and loved life. His death is an irreparable loss for our family,” said his relatives with sorrow.

It is worth noting that similar tragedies have happened before in Kazakhstan. On September 17 of this year, in the Mangystau region, it was reported that a 19-year-old soldier named Dinmukhammed had died. He had joined the army after his twin brother. Initially, the brothers served in the same unit, but later they were transferred to different ones, and shortly afterward, one of them died.

According to official information, Dinmukhammed’s death was classified as suicide, but his family did not believe this version. Later, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Defense Serik Borambaev commented on the case, saying: “The brothers were inseparable; they were always together.”

Nurasyl’s death once again drew public attention to the growing number of such incidents. Whether there are systemic problems related to the safety and health of soldiers in Kazakhstan remains unclear, as no official statements have been made. However, the deceased’s family intends to pursue the truth to the very end.
