A road accident involving a passenger train and a truck occurred in the Turtkul district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the press service of JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" reported.
According to the information, on October 6 at 15:31, at an unguarded railway crossing on the 8th picket at 531 km between the Turtkul - Ellikkala stations belonging to the Kungrad regional railway junction, passenger train No. 128 Kungrad - Andijan collided with a KAMAZ car that did not take into account the signal signs during its movement.
There were 216 passengers on the passenger train; they were not harmed. The KAMAZ driver was injured and taken to the hospital. As a result of the accident, the train's movement was temporarily suspended, and at 16:15 it continued its journey with the help of another locomotive.
Currently, employees of relevant agencies and law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation at the scene.
