Anumber of agreements were reached on a ceasefire in Gaza. According to the main terms of the agreement, military operations will cease immediately upon approval by the Israeli government.
As part of the agreement, Hamas will release approximately 20 hostages who have survived. In response, Israel will release nearly 1,700 Palestinian prisoners, including 250 people sentenced to life imprisonment.
Also, the Israel Defense Forces will retreat behind the "agreed line" within Gaza within 72 hours. With the support of the UN and the Red Crescent Society, humanitarian aid corridors will be opened. Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and the USA will coordinate the implementation of the agreement.
At the same time, two important issues remain unresolved: Israel's clear line of retreat has not been confirmed, and it remains unclear who will rule the Gaza Strip after the truce.
