Kyrgyzstan may move its capital to Manas

In Kyrgyzstan, the issue of moving the country's capital has once again come to the forefront. The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchibek Tashiev, did not deny this idea and noted the possibility of the city of Manas becoming a state center in the future.

According to Tashiyev, in 2026 it is planned to give Manas the status of the third city of republican significance. According to him, this decision is strategically correct and will be of great importance for the further development of the country.

"Many are saying that Manas will become the capital. If we are truly worthy of implementing this decision - why not? But being the capital requires not only a name, but also a great responsibility. Both the city and the people must be ready for this task - economically, infrastructurally, and morally," Tashiyev said.

For information, construction and infrastructure work has been carried out at an accelerated pace in Manas in recent months. New administrative buildings, roads, and social facilities are being built.

It should be recalled that the name of the city of Jalal-Abad was officially changed to Manas on September 17, which was perceived in the country as a symbol of a new beginning.

According to experts, if Manas receives the status of the capital, this could reshape the economic and political center of Kyrgyzstan.
