US President Donald Trump believes that Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is capable of overcoming the crisis in Ukraine.
Trump announced this during an interview with journalists on his flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Washington.
When asked if Erdoğan could help resolve the Ukraine conflict, the president undoubtedly replied:
"Erdogan can do such a thing. He is respected in Russia. I can't say for sure about Ukraine, but Russian President Vladimir Putin respects it. He is also my friend," Trump said.
As a reminder, a peace summit was held in Sharm el-Sheikh on October 13th to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The meeting was attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, US President Donald Trump, and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Following the summit, an agreement was signed on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of all Israeli hostages.
