China is updating its rare earth metals supply system to the US

China is reviewing its system for supplying rare earth metals to the United States. This was reported by sources in The Wall Street Journal. Under the new system, the export process will be simplified, but American companies operating in the military sphere will be removed from the list.

According to reports, the Chinese government intends to sell rare earth metals and related products to US companies that use them exclusively for civilian purposes. With this, Beijing intends, on the one hand, to implement the agreement with Washington on the supply of resources, and on the other hand, to impose restrictions on industries related to the US military.

Journalists note that the new system will allow Chinese exporters to obtain licenses faster. Through this, Beijing is striving not only to balance economic relations but also to maintain its geopolitical influence.

As a reminder, during a meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping on October 30th, the US agreed to reduce some customs duties on China, and Beijing agreed to lift restrictions on rare earth metal exports.
