In Turkey, a man was found guilty of divorce for liking other women's photos

The Supreme Court of Turkey found the husband guilty of divorce after he liked other women on social media. Haberturk writes about this.

The husband and wife H.B. and S.B. filed a counterclaim for divorce. According to the woman, her husband insulted her, did not give her money for personal expenses, and liked the photos of other women.

The man accused his wife of jealousy and left critical comments under her posts.

The Kayseri Family Court upheld the divorce, admitting the main guilt of the man and the partial guilt of the woman, and also awarded the couple 500 lira (over 900 rubles) in temporary alimony, 750 lira (about 1400 rubles) in poverty relief, and 40,000 lira (about 75,000 rubles) in material and moral compensation.

The husband appealed the decision, but the appellate court left the man the main culprit of the divorce, increasing the amount of alimony for poverty by 1,000 lira per month (about 1,870 rubles) and highlighting his provocative behavior by "likeing other women's photos," as this "destroys trust." At the same time, the amount of each compensation was changed to 30,000 lira (more than 50,000 rubles).

It is noted that the court decision has become a precedent and will be followed in the future.
