All educational institutions closed in Tehran due to air pollution

Due to severe air pollution in Tehran, the capital of Iran, all schools and higher education institutions were temporarily suspended from November 24-25. This was reported by local authorities.

The decision was made in order to protect the health of the population. According to the air quality control organization, since the beginning of 2025, fresh air has been observed in Tehran for only 6 days.

Experts advise citizens not to go outside unless necessary, to use protective masks, and to observe precautionary measures.

According to the international platform IQAir, Tehran currently ranks 10th among the world's capitals and major cities in terms of air pollution.

It should be noted that the capital of Uzbekistan, the city of Tashkent, occupies the 8th place in this rating.
