Reports from some Afghan media outlets that former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan died in the Adiala prison on November 26 caused a great stir in the neighboring country. The same sources reported that the politician died "mysteriously" and his body was taken out of the prison premises.
However, this information has not yet been confirmed by the Pakistani government, the Adiala prison administration, and the Pakistan Tehrik-ye-Insaf (PTI) party, led by Imran Khan. The fact that international news agencies have not made any official statements on this matter remains even more uncertain.
Following the news, riots erupted on social media: posts about Imran Khan's supporters and his close associates gathering around the prison quickly gained popularity.
For information, Imran Khan was imprisoned after being convicted in several criminal cases. In recent years, false information about his health or even "death" has been circulated several times, which were later officially refuted.
For now, the authenticity of the message remains unknown, therefore confirmation or refutation from official bodies is expected. The Pakistani public, however, is demanding clarification of the situation.
