The German pygmy stallion Pumukel once again captured the world's attention - it was officially recognized as the shortest horse in the world. The Guinness World Records organization conducted a special measurement and confirmed that the stallion's height was only 52.6 centimeters. With this victory, Pumukel surpassed the previous record holder, the Polish stallion named Bombel.
The measurement process was carried out on August 16, 2025, in the city of Breckerfeld. Guinness judges noted that Pumukel's height is approximately 4 centimeters shorter than the previous record. Interestingly, such a stallion's short stature is not a product of selection or artificial selection - it is its natural characteristic. Even as a foal, he was quite different from the others: his height at that time was only 47 centimeters.

Such small dimensions of Pumukel not only make him famous, but also impose an even more noble task on his life. The stallion actively participates in therapeutic programs: it visits rehabilitation centers, special educational institutions, and provides psychological support to children and adults. According to the owner, Pumukel is distinguished by his extremely calm, gentle, and sociable personality.
Imagine how small it is
Pumukel is indeed incredibly small - this can be easily understood through comparisons:
- It is even shorter than an ordinary Labrador (labradors are usually 55-60 cm tall).
- Almost identical to a large goose or turkey.
- Equal to a dwarf goat, but shorter than an ordinary goat (usually 60-70 cm).
- Compared to ponies, they are generally "like rifles": ponies are 90-140 cm tall.

The stallion that became an Internet star
Due to its unusual appearance, Pumukel has become a sensation in the global media space. His photos became viral on social media, and various publications published articles about the stallion. Even in the list of the most discussed animals of 2025, Pumukel took the leading positions.
The stallion's natural modest height, kind nature, and becoming a record holder make it a source of joy and warm feelings for millions of people. Pumukel currently holds the world record - and finding a competitor, especially in nature, seems very difficult.
