Alibaba releases the first artificial intelligence smart glasses

China's giant tech giant Alibaba Group unveiled its first artificial intelligence smart glasses, Quark AI Glasses, on November 27th. According to the South China Morning Post, the glasses consist of two models: a wider S1 and a lighter G1.

According to Alibaba Vice President Wu Jian, smart glasses are "a device that can take communication between a person and a computer to a new level," so their importance is no less than that of smartphones.

The S1 model is priced at 3,799 yuan ($537) and features a Snapdragon AR1 processor, real-time translation, payment, navigation, and interactive assistant features. The 1899 yuan ($268) G1 is much lighter and retains basic functions.

The new Quark AI Glasses will become a new competitor to Meta's Ray-Ban Display glasses, as well as Rokid and Xiaomi devices. While Meta glasses have a color display, the Alibaba model works with a monochrome green screen.

The device is currently available only in China. There is no information about plans to enter the foreign market.
