Man burned his girlfriend who demanded marriage

In India, a taxi driver burned down his girlfriend who pressured him to propose marriage. This was reported by The Times of India.

According to the publication, police arrested a 33-year-old man in the state of Maharashtra for murdering his 26-year-old girlfriend. On November 26, 2025, when the woman did not return home, her relative contacted the police.

It turned out that on that day, the woman took her son to school, and then met with her boyfriend, who was a taxi driver. The man promised to take her to his native village, but instead took her outside the city, strangled her, and beat her with an iron pipe. Then he pulled gasoline out of his car and set the woman on fire. On November 27, police found the woman's partially burned body.

Initially, the suspect stated that he had nothing to do with the crime, but after a long interrogation, he admitted that he had been in a relationship with the victim for several years and that the woman demanded his marriage. The man decided to end the relationship because he had previously married another woman and said he had killed her to get rid of her completely.
