An ultimatum to Europe: "we are ready right now"
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the "Russia Calls!" investment forum, stated that his country does not want to fight Europe, but if war breaks out, Moscow is "ready to do so" (RBK reported).
He emphasized that Europe is hindering the US President Donald Trump administration's peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. "Europe has taken the thesis of a strategic defeat to Russia as its weapon and continues to live by these illusions. They are on the side of war," Putin said. Brussels continues to put forward unacceptable peace proposals to Russia.
At the same time, the Russian president believes that the "special military operation" in Ukraine is not a war in the literal sense of the word, because "Russia is operating surgically and cautiously in Ukraine. This is not a direct war in the modern sense."
Black Sea piracy and the most radical response
Putin also firmly addressed the situation in the Black Sea. If Ukraine continues to attack tankers, Russia may explore the possibility of taking "response measures" against the ships of the countries providing aid to Ukraine.
The Russian president called the actions of the Ukrainian side "maritime piracy." The most radical response is to completely disconnect Ukraine from the Black Sea, so that " piracy cannot be practiced," Putin warned.
