Emergency at the Louvre Museum in Paris - Department of Egypt damaged

Another incident occurred at the Louvre, one of the world's most famous museums in Paris. In the section dedicated to Egyptian civilization, about 400 rare books were damaged as a result of a water pipe burst.

These publications date back to the late 19th - early 20th centuries and have been regularly used by scientists, students, and museum staff in various scientific studies.

According to local media, Louvre employees already knew about the problem with the pipeline. Repair work was planned only for September 2026. However, the pipe unexpectedly burst, causing significant damage to the museum's collection.
