Severe consequences have been recorded as a result of a sharp cold spell in Kazakhstan. In the West Kazakhstan region, three men died from hypothermia due to a significant drop in air temperatures.
According to official information, the victims froze as a result of the extreme cold, and it was not possible to save their lives before medical assistance arrived. Responsible authorities are urging the population not to remain outdoors for long periods, to dress warmly, and to strictly observe safety measures.
Adverse weather conditions have also affected the capital, Astana. On December 15, starting from 14:00, traffic for all types of vehicles was temporarily restricted on roads leading out of the city. Officials stated that the restrictions will be lifted once weather conditions improve.
