In Britain, a man walked over 100 km with a refrigerator in memory of his wife

British man Matt Jones covered dozens of kilometers carrying a 37-kilogram refrigerator on his shoulders. It all started because of an argument with his wife. This was reported by the BBC.

The fact is that in 2018 Matt Jones underwent a hip replacement surgery. At that time, the surgeon advised the man to avoid physical exertion. His wife Vicky reacted emotionally to the doctor’s recommendation and joked: “This idiot will walk to Hlagoghlen with a refrigerator on his back.”

Jones perceived his wife’s words as a challenge. The former marine said he could do it even twice. Some time later, his wife suddenly passed away at the age of 43 due to heart disease. The man was left alone to raise four children, but he never forgot his wife’s words.

As a result, he decided to accept the challenge in memory of his beloved. Jones walked 112 kilometers carrying a 37-kilogram refrigerator, completing a charity challenge to raise funds for an organization supported by his wife. In total, £50,000 was raised for the man.
