Cambodia-Thailand border war: Soldiers and civilians in serious condition
The border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand continues. Wounded soldiers are being treated in Mongkol Borei hospital; some have lost arms or legs. Doctors and their families show the serious situation and call for peace.

Artillery and close combat take place along the border. Thai air strikes damage Cambodia’s weak air defense, and Cambodia’s rockets have injured some civilians. Cambodia does not release official death and injury numbers; the Thai army reports 21 soldiers killed.

Many civilians were forced to leave their homes because of the war. Over 700,000 migrant workers returned from Thailand, and more than 480,000 Cambodians were evacuated. Border trade has stopped and the local economy suffers.

The Cambodian government calls for peace and restoration of the July ceasefire. At the same time, the war severely affects the country’s political and economic situation. Restoring trust between leaders of both sides is important, but the situation remains complex.
