Russia sells oil to China at record low prices
Russian oil companies are supplying oil to China at high discounts to sell batches rejected by Indian refineries.

In the Baltic Sea, Urals oil is sold at an average of $21.5 per barrel, and in the Black Sea at around $20. These prices show a 40% drop compared to the beginning of 2025. Russia’s main export oil is sold at around $40 on average.

Due to stricter sanctions, Greek tanker companies refuse to transport Russian oil. Therefore, Russia lacks about 50 tankers to meet the planned export volume.

The drop in Urals prices may cause additional problems for Russia’s budget. Raw material revenues this year have fallen by more than 20%.
