Crane collapses on road near Bangkok in Thailand: 2 dead

Another tragic accident at a suspended highway construction site in Thailand has claimed the lives of two people. According to local police, on January 15, a crane operating at a construction site in Samut Sakhon province near the capital Bangkok collapsed onto the road.

As a result, two vehicles traveling along the road were crushed under the construction structure. The incident left two people dead, while five others were hospitalized with various injuries.

This incident once again brought the issue of construction safety in Thailand to the forefront. This is the second major tragedy in just two consecutive days: on January 14, in Nakhon Ratchasima province, a crane belonging to a high-speed railway project fell onto a passenger train, causing a railway disaster in which dozens of people were killed.

Investigations into both incidents are reported to be underway.
