Kurdish language in Syria is the first state language in history

Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara'a signed an important decree aimed at guaranteeing the rights and interests of the Kurdish people. In accordance with this document, the Kurds were recognized as an integral part of Syrian society, and the Kurdish language received the status of the state language for the first time in the country's history.
According to AFP, according to the decree, the Kurdish language will be taught in educational institutions in regions with a significant Kurdish population.
Also, Kurds who were deprived of their citizenship during the 1962 census were given the opportunity to regain their citizenship. This decision was one of the important issues that remained unresolved for years.
As another innovation, the Kurdish people's holiday - Navruz, celebrated on March 21, has been recognized as an official state holiday.
In his televised address, President Ahmad al-Shara'a called on the Kurdish people to actively participate in the process of building the country's future.
"I call on our Kurdish brothers to take an active part in building this nation," he said.
