The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Provides Official Explanation on Uzbeks Tried in Dubai

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan provided an official explanation regarding media and social media reports about Uzbeks being tried in Dubai. This was reported by uzdaily.uzreports.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred in April 2025 and involved eight Uzbek citizens in a recorded mass brawl.

On January 21, a Dubai court sentenced all eight participants in the brawl to life imprisonment. Another Uzbek citizen was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that diplomatic missions and relevant authorities are taking necessary measures to thoroughly investigate the situation and protect the rights of the citizens.
