Two categories of Russians most frequently contacted by fraudsters have been named

Associate Professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Petr Shcherbachenko, in an interview with RG.RU, named two categories of Russians most frequently contacted by fraudsters.
As the publication's source noted, citizens aged 35 to 44 with incomes exceeding 50 thousand rubles, as well as pensioners over 65 years old, are in the risk zone. Shcherbachenko drew attention to the fact that fraudsters take advantage of the fact that older people more often believe official calls, and middle-aged people, in turn, are more willing to seek additional income.
According to the expert, residents of large cities are most at risk of falling victim to fraudsters, as they have a better financial situation. He cited as an example that Moscow residents account for 16.8% of all fraudulent calls, Krasnodar - 7%, St. Petersburg - 6.3%, Novosibirsk - 3.5%, and Ufa - 3.2%.
Shcherbachenko pointed out that the peak of malicious phone attacks occurs in the afternoon, specifically from 16:00 to 18:00. He clarified that calls from numbers not starting with "+7," as well as calls through messengers, are potentially dangerous. The publication's source added that it's worth considering that scammers often use technology to change numbers.
