According to an official statement released by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), a total of 11 ships were at the disposal of the Iranian regime in the Gulf of Oman two days prior. However, it is now claimed that their number has dropped to zero.
The statement notes that Iran has been a threat to the security of international navigation in the Gulf region for decades and, in some cases, has carried out aggressive actions against ships.
"Two days ago, the Iranian regime had 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman. Today their number is equal to 0. The Iranian regime has posed a threat to international maritime navigation for many years. This period is now behind us," CENTCOM said in a statement.
At the same time, the US military emphasized that this operation was carried out to ensure the security of sea routes in the region and to protect international trade movements.
