Gideon Lastig, Israel's ambassador to Uzbekistan, clarified why his country is acting alongside the US against Iran.
The ambassador emphasized that over the past year, Iran has been continuously working on rapidly increasing its nuclear potential, as well as expanding the production of ballistic missiles. At the same time, these military capabilities are being transferred to special underground structures. These objects are difficult to strike, highly protected, and practically inviolable.
Gideon Lastig stated that over the past 48 hours, Iran has used its missile capabilities not only against Israel but also against countries in the region. In particular, Arab states located in the Persian Gulf were also targeted.
"In the last two days, Iran has struck at least seven countries. This clearly shows that the capabilities of this missile are a real threat," the ambassador said.
He also noted that Hezbollah also joined the situation. According to him, this group, operating in Lebanon, decided to launch an attack against Israel.
"Unfortunately, although Hezbollah in Lebanon presents itself as a defender of the Lebanese people, in reality, it acts as a tool, a political and military weapon, in the hands of the ayatollahs regime in Iran," the Israeli ambassador said.
