Student jumps from dormitory: life miraculously saved

On March 26, in Mugla province, Turkey, a terrible incident occurred — a student jumped from the 6th floor of a dormitory. This was reported by the IHA news source.
It was reported that the incident occurred at the Turgutreis student dormitory in the Mentese district. After a call from bystanders and dormitory administration, police, emergency rescue services, and ambulance teams quickly arrived at the scene.
Experts simultaneously tried to dissuade the student while also preparing for a possible jump. Fire safety personnel quickly installed a special inflatable air cushion in the dormitory yard to ensure safety.
Despite all efforts, the student jumped. However, falling onto the air cushion saved his life. On-site medical staff immediately provided first aid, and he was taken to the Mugla Education and Research Hospital. It was reported that his condition is under doctors’ supervision.
According to preliminary information, the student attempted suicide due to a state of psychological depression. Police are currently conducting an investigation regarding this incident.
