On April 26 of this year, gunshots rang out during a private dinner organized by US President Donald Trump at the prestigious Hilton Hotel in Washington. Melania Trump and Vice President Jey Di Vens were also participating in the event. As a result of the armed attack, one of the personnel ensuring the president's security was injured.
Who is the perpetrator: Teacher, programmer, and "assassin"
The individual who carried out the attack is 31-year-old Koul Allen from the state of California. He worked as a teacher at the S2 Education center and was also active in the fields of information technology and video game development. It was established that Allen, who released his own game on the Steam platform in 2018, had recently been working on a new project.
However, his social media activity was notably suspicious and radical. He referred to himself as a "Friendly Federal Assassin" and stated in a manifesto addressed to his relatives that he had targeted a number of high-ranking officials.
Sympathy for Kyiv and political animosity
The most significant aspect that drew the attention of investigators is Allen's attitude toward Ukraine. It has been revealed that he:
Actively supported the Kyiv administration and participated in fundraising for the Ukraine Armed Forces;
Relentlessly criticized the US government for reducing military aid to Ukraine;
Sharply opposed Vice President Jey Di Vens's position on Ukraine and engaged in debates based on statements by Ukrainian politician Anton Gerashchenko.
Furthermore, according to US Federal Election Commission data, it was also determined that Koul Allen had previously made financial donations to Kamala Xarris's election campaign.
Investigation and court proceedings
Currently, the FBR and other law enforcement agencies are meticulously examining whether Allen had direct links with Ukrainian government agencies. The suspect has been charged with the use of a firearm and the attempted assassination of a federal employee. The first court hearing on this case is scheduled to take place on April 27.
