Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has made a sharp and humorous statement regarding the international economic situation and changes in the oil market. He noted that today, oil prices have become dependent even on Donald Trump's mood and state.
"We are constantly under pressure regarding oil prices. If Trump sleeps well, prices go down; if he makes a statement while tired or in a bad mood, the value of oil immediately rises," Fico stated.
Through these remarks, the Prime Minister humorously expressed how political statements and the rhetoric of leaders of major powers impact the global market.
At the same time, Robert Fico touched upon the subject of relations with Russia. He noted that his meetings with Vladimir Putin are always a subject of criticism.
"When I meet with Putin, everyone criticizes me. But when I return from a meeting with Putin, everyone in the restrooms in Brussels—where there are no cameras—asks me what Putin said," he said.
These statements by Fico once again highlight the existence of double standards and geopolitical pressures within the European political environment.
