Samsung brings iPad display tech to premium cars

Samsung Display plans to bring its advanced Tandem OLED technology, used in the 2024 iPad Pro, to the automotive sector, Pepelac News reported. According to sources in South Korea, the company is not only adapting the technology for vehicles but also expanding production to meet growing demand.

Previously, Samsung supplied limited Tandem OLED displays to Audi. Now, with rising interest from premium automakers, Samsung aims to lead the automotive display market. The same technology powers Apple’s latest iPads, where Samsung is a key screen supplier.

Tandem OLED features dual RGB layers, enabling higher brightness, lower power consumption, and enhanced durability — qualities crucial for vehicle displays exposed to sunlight and long-term use.
