New Generation BMW X5 G65: Design and Technical Capabilities

According to Autohome, the new generation BMW X5 (G65) crossover will enter production in August 2026. Initially, the X5 40 xDrive and X5 40d xDrive modifications are expected to be produced. The extended version for the Chinese market, designated G78, will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
The new model will feature a modern design language inspired by the BMW Neue Klasse. Built on the updated CLAR platform, the vehicle will measure approximately 4994 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3035 mm. Customers will be offered a wide palette of body colors, including various shades of white, black, gray, green, and blue.
BMW engineers are preparing five types of powertrains for the model: gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid, fully electric, and hydrogen-powered engines. The gasoline version will be equipped with a 3.0-liter engine producing 400 hp and a 17 hp 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
Hybrid modifications will also be significantly updated. The X5 50e version will feature a 313 hp gasoline engine combined with a 197 hp electric motor, while the more powerful X5 M60e model will utilize a 425 hp engine paired with the same electric motor.
