Chinese automotive giant BYD has confirmed it is in negotiations with local manufacturers to strengthen its position in the European market. Company representatives are considering options to acquire existing plants or utilize production capacities in Italy and other European countries, according to Ixbt.com. reports. states.
BYD management emphasizes that using ready-made infrastructure will significantly accelerate the process compared to building new plants from scratch. According to Bloomberg, negotiations are ongoing not only with Stellantis but also with other major European automotive groups.
The company has not yet provided specific details regarding the deals or the current stage of negotiations. Nevertheless, BYD is preparing a new line of models specifically designed for the European market.
Over the next three years, BYD plans to significantly expand its product portfolio in Europe. In particular, the presentation of the Dolphin G hybrid model, created specifically for the European market, is expected next month.
