Zeekr is no longer the leader: China's smartest cars announced

J.D. Power China has released its Tech Experience Index (TXI) study, ranking the smartest car brands of 2026. The study surveyed 32,813 owners who purchased new vehicles between May 2025 and February 2026, covering 255 models across 81 Chinese cities. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports.
Although the overall TXI index rose to an average of 658 points, for the first time in four years, a decline in the quality of smart features was noted. Users frequently complain about the unstable performance of driver assistance systems. Aito, supported by Huawei, became the absolute leader in the ranking with 815 points.
The following positions were taken by Denza (806), Zeekr (794), Avatr (787), Li Auto (786), and Xiaomi (782). It is worth noting that Zeekr has lost its previous leading position. The intensifying competition in the electric vehicle segment is clearly reflected in these figures.
In the premium internal combustion engine segment, Mercedes-Benz (703) recorded the best result. It was followed by BMW (683), Porsche (680), and SAIC Audi (668). Among mass-market gasoline brands, Tank (668) leads the pack.
Other representatives of the mass segment, such as GAC (637), Changan (635), Chery (635), Jetour (634), and Lynk & Co (633), also secured high positions. Brands such as Haval, Geely, Buick, and Hongqi were also noted for their performance in the list.
