The author of hits «Ўзбегимнинг қизиман», «Ҳайрон», «Соҳибқироним бор мани» and a singer faithful to her style, Nargiza Azimova, gave an interview for the program «Omon-omon». She spoke about the secret of her youthful appearance, people thinking her son is her husband, and the possibility of wearing clothes of other colors.
“Singing Comes from My Mother”
— My mother Dilorom opa sang beautifully in Uzbek, Persian, Tajik, and Azerbaijani languages. But at that time, her parents did not allow her to become a singer. This also contributed to my entrance into art, but I had the desire myself. Even when working in the field, I would hum songs quietly, she says. My mother said: “My dreams live in your songs.”
Nargiza Azimova always wears red clothes and ties a scarf of the same color. This is her unchanging principle. When fans asked, “Will you ever wear clothes of other colors?” the singer replied:
— For now, I have no such plans, but maybe someday I will wear pastel-colored clothes. Time will tell, I don’t know yet, says Nargiza Azimova.
“I Do Not Shirk Work”
— My nature is such that whether my daughter-in-law is at home or not, I do not sit idle. I do all the work. My mother says: “You were born this way.” Even when I go to the village, I do all the chores. If I see trash on the road, I pick it up. Some acquaintances ask: “Why do you do that?” I believe the reason for my youthful appearance is receiving morning prayers from my parents and my children receiving prayers from me, she says.
“At Weddings, People Think My Son Is My Husband”
— My son is an athlete, the Uzbekistan champion in freestyle wrestling. At weddings and on the street, people see him and ask, “Your husband?” My husband is very jealous, be careful, I say. Later, realizing, they are surprised: “Oh, it’s your son.” I have three grandchildren. This year, the eldest grandchild will go to school. I think Allah’s gaze is upon me, that is why I look young. I have good relations with in-laws, when I go to Surkhandarya, they welcome me happily. I got my daughter-in-law from Surkhandarya and gave my daughter there as well. All this was done by my parents. I only attended weddings “alone” (laughs), says the singer.
