The 98th ceremony of the American Film Academy took place at the famous Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. At this prestigious event, the best films and filmmakers of the year were awarded. The biggest success at the ceremony was achieved by the film "One Battle After Another," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (2025). It won an Oscar in the "Best Film" category.
This film achieved great success not only in the main nomination, but also in a number of other areas. Paul Thomas Anderson himself won two separate Oscar statuettes as "best director" and "best adapted screenwriter." This once again demonstrated his creative skills and influence in cinematography.
Famous actor Sean Penn, who starred in the film, was named "Best Supporting Actor" for his strong and impressive performance. The film was also awarded in another important area - casting. This is one of the newly introduced nominations at the "Oscar" ceremony.

The main awards in the field of acting were also presented at the ceremony. Michael B. Jordan was named Best Actor for his role in The Sinners (2025), and Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her appearance in Hamnet: The Story That Inspired Hamlet.
At the same time, director Ryan Kugler's film "The Sinners" (Sinners, 2025) won an Oscar in the nomination "Best Original Screenplay."
The award for the supporting role went to Amy Medigan. He received recognition from the film academy for his role in the film "Weapons."
