Emphasis on economic diplomacy: exports and investment on a new record

At the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to increase the flow of exports and investments by further intensifying economic diplomacy. The head of state noted that economic diplomacy is not just negotiations - it serves to increase human dignity through new jobs, incomes, and living standards. Economic stability, in itself, is a solid foundation of state security.

The figures presented at the meeting show that the topic has gained a strong momentum not on paper, but in practice. In particular, within the framework of bilateral and multilateral events, agreements on investment projects and trade contracts totaling 160 billion dollars were signed in 2025. Notably, for the first time in history, foreign trade turnover exceeded $80 billion, and exports reached $33.5 billion. The volume of foreign investments also increased significantly, exceeding $43 billion.

Another important point was noted: last year, the volume of exports to 75 countries increased by almost 4.5 billion dollars. It was emphasized that to continue this trend, ambassadors should "walk together" with foreign investors and large companies, that is, establish not just protocols, but real partnerships.

Iraq was specifically mentioned as an example of promising markets. It was noted that Iraq, which has almost no domestic production and imports $100 billion worth of products to meet domestic demand, is a great opportunity for Uzbek producers. In this regard, it was positively assessed that 150 representatives of large companies from Iraq were brought to Uzbekistan. It was also noted that they, having seen the activities of local enterprises, admitted that they had practically no idea about Uzbek products before.

The most interesting thing is that the results started coming quickly: the plan to open an official distributor of our enterprises in Iraq and rapidly enter the markets of the Middle East was discussed, and an agreement was reached to supply products worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Iraq this year.

At the meeting, it was noted that it is necessary to implement a similar approach with Vietnam, Bahrain, and Portugal, to find partners and systematically work on entering these markets.

In short, the message is clear: diplomacy should not be a "meeting for pictures," but a key to export. If embassies and businesses work in the same direction, today's records will become the norm tomorrow - and most importantly, this growth will be felt in the income of every family.
