
Sergey Lavrov to visit Uzbekistan on an official visit — strategic cooperation at the center of discussion
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Uzbekistan on an official visit on April 22-23, 2024. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a briefing.
During the visit, Lavrov is scheduled to hold talks with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
“A meeting with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and detailed talks with the head of the country's Foreign Ministry are planned as part of the visit in Tashkent,” Zakharova said.
The briefing noted that the main focus of the talks will be on:
- Further development of strategic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan
- Cooperation in ensuring regional security
- Mutual coordination within international organizations
This visit is expected to play an important role in bringing political, economic and humanitarian relations between the two countries to a new level.
