Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of public transport in the city of Urgench

During his visit to the Khorezm region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the conveniences created in public transport in the city of Urgench.

It was noted that the Bunyod Passenger Transport enterprise will deliver 80 modern buses for about $8 million. So far, 50 of them have been delivered.

These buses, which meet the requirements of "EURO-5", have a capacity of 70 people and are convenient for the disabled and the elderly. They also have Wi-Fi and surveillance cameras.

It is emphasized that each of the new buses serves a thousand people per day. Their travel time has also been halved, to 5-12 minutes. As a result, the level of public transport use by the population in the city of Urgench has reached 38 percent.

Basically, such conditions prevent transport shortages and traffic jams on the streets and serve the free movement of citizens.

In order to better cover other regions with public transport, the enterprise plans to deliver another 30 buses in the near future.

The President gave instructions to effectively connect public transport with districts and make routes more convenient. It was noted that repairing roads, improving the qualifications of drivers and the quality of technical service are important factors in extending the service life of buses.
