During the 2025 Hajj season, distressing and sorrowful news came from Saudi Arabia about a pilgrim from Uzbekistan. One of the country's well-known religious scholars — Imam-Khatib of the Rakat Jome Mosque in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district and the appointed leader of a Hajj group — Rabbimqul Muhammadiev — passed away after falling into a coma.
This sad news was shared via the official Telegram channel of Rakat Jome Mosque. According to the message, Imam Rabbimqul Muhammadiev suddenly fell ill in the holy city of Medina and later fell into a coma. Unfortunately, on the morning of May 26, he returned to his Lord.
“This morning in Medina, our respected Domla Rabbimqul Muhammadiev, after illness, returned to his Lord,” — stated the message.
The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan also officially confirmed his passing in Medina. However, no specific cause or illness was disclosed by the representatives.
The tragic news was met with deep sorrow by the religious community of Uzbekistan, including the staff of Kokaldosh Islamic College and Islom.uz portal. They offered condolences to his family and community, highlighting his invaluable contribution to religious and educational life.
Rabbimqul Muhammadiev was among the respected and enlightened imams in Uzbekistan. Since 2019, he served as Imam-Khatib at the historic Rakat Jome Mosque in Tashkent. Before that, he also served several years at the Imam Termiziy Mosque in the Almazar district.
He was a guide not only for the public but also for scholars — known for his deep knowledge and spiritual advice. His many sermons and religious talks left a lasting impression on people’s hearts.
His death is especially sorrowful because he was serving as a spiritual leader and group head for Uzbek pilgrims this year. His passing is a serious loss not only for the pilgrims but for all Muslims in Uzbekistan.
His funeral and burial are expected to take place in Medina. His family, close ones, and numerous students have received the news with heavy hearts. Muslims across Uzbekistan continue to remember him in their prayers.
May Allah grant him mercy, forgiveness, and a place in Paradise. May his religious and spiritual legacy continue to guide future generations. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
