Uzbekistan and Russia's Novosibirsk region have taken another step towards strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector. Representatives of major travel companies, travel agencies and responsible organizations of the two countries took part in the online meeting, organized at the initiative of the Consulate General of our country. The event was dedicated to discussing opportunities for further development of modern tourism relations, cooperation on new projects and exchange of experience.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk region, the "Center for Regional Development", the regional association of tourism organizations, regional tour operators, as well as the heads of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and local tourism companies. Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk region, Head of the Department of Marketing, Foreign Economic Activity and Tourism Anna Vinnikova highlighted the opportunities for cooperation in the tourism industry of the two countries.
In her opinion, favorable conditions have been created for traveling from Novosibirsk to Uzbekistan - more than 10 flights operate per week, various routes and interesting tour programs are offered for Russians. Thanks to such conveniences, the flow of tourists from Russia is increasing every year.
The Deputy Minister announced that the Novosibirsk region will participate in the international tourism fair "Tourism on the Silk Road" in Tashkent this year with a separate stand. This will serve to widely demonstrate the tourism potential of the region.
At the event, the parties shared proposals to intensify contacts between tour operators of the two countries, develop joint travel programs and further increase tourist exchange. These efforts will create a basis for further increasing the tourism potential and implementing projects beneficial to both countries.
Representatives of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan noted that Russia is a strategic tourism partner for our country, and recalled that every year the number of Russian tourists is traditionally 1.5-2 times higher than other foreign guests.
The Russian side, in turn, expressed great interest in such developing areas in Uzbekistan as schoolchildren, pensioners, educational, industrial and commercial infotours. In particular, in August, summer camps in our country are offered to children from Novosibirsk, and pensioners are offered opportunities to relax in the best hospitals and resorts of Uzbekistan.
It was also announced to the Russian partners that the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has allocated four grants for Russian students to study the tourism industry in depth. This will further strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two countries.
Thus, the next dialogue once again confirmed that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Novosibirsk region in the field of tourism is on the verge of entering a new stage. Mutually beneficial projects, joint programs and new approaches will undoubtedly further develop friendly relations between the two peoples.
