
During operational activities carried out by State Security Service officers, the deputy hokim, an inspector of the Inspection for Control over the Agro-Industrial Complex, was caught red-handed while taking a bribe.
The deputy hokim of Beruniy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was detained with material evidence while receiving 12,000 US dollars from the head of an LLC specializing in processing licorice roots, operating in Takhiatash district, in exchange for allocating 150 hectares of land in the territory of Beruniy district for growing licorice roots.
In a case registered in Namangan region, the head of a farmer household specializing in horticulture in Kosonsoy district was detained while receiving a 50,000 US dollars advance for formalizing 24 hectares of the household’s land to the name of a buyer through his official acquaintance, with the total amount required being 240,000 US dollars.
Also, during the continued operational activity, his official acquaintance — chief specialist of the Kosonsoy district project office of the state institution "Agency for the Development of Agro-Industry" under the Ministry of Agriculture — was caught while receiving 10,000 US dollars for formalizing the above-mentioned land plot.
In another case, the head of department of the management of the Inspection for Control over the Agro-Industrial Complex under the Cabinet of Ministers in Andijan region was detained while receiving 1,000 US dollars from the head of a farmer household specializing in growing cotton and wheat in Andijan district for giving a conclusion with a reduced amount of damage regarding illegally constructed buildings and structures on a 6-sotix land plot.
