Sharof Rashidov district hokim Mahmud Kholbutaev was caught while receiving a $10,000 bribe, and a criminal case has been initiated. This was reported by the State Security Service.
A chief specialist of the Sharof Rashidov district hokimiyat promised the head of an LLC operating in the construction sector to allocate a plot of land for the construction of a multi-storey residential building in the district and demanded $30,000 in return.
On July 5 of this year, the chief specialist received $10,000 from the requested amount and handed it over to the district hokim. On July 8, he received the remaining $20,000 from the entrepreneur. By the relevant decision of the district hokim, he provided documents granting permission to build 8 multi-storey houses on a 1.7-hectare plot allocated for the construction of a general secondary school building in the "Tokchilik" neighborhood (MFY).
Later, when the chief specialist handed over $10,000 to the district hokim in front of the hokimiyat building, their illegal actions were stopped by State Security Service officers.
Currently, the Sharof Rashidov district hokim has been deprived of parliamentary immunity, and a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, while a case has been initiated against the chief specialist under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code.
