An unfortunate incident in the Tashkent region caused not only an accident but also serious inconvenience in people's lives. As a result of the power outage, hundreds of households and facilities were temporarily left without electricity.
On August 1, a road traffic incident occurred in the Bostanlik district, seriously affecting the electric infrastructure. According to official reports, a cargo vehicle collided with the support of a high-voltage power transmission line.
As a result of this incident, two separate power transmission lines — “L-Chorbog-1” and “L-Chorbog-2” — were damaged. Both lines operate at 110 kV and are considered major lines extending from the GES-27 power station.
Due to the outage of these two vital lines, several settlements, industrial enterprises, recreational zones, children’s health complexes, and even cable cars in the Bostanlik district were left without electricity.
Additionally, in a short time, commercial and service points in various parts of the district suspended their operations. The number of consumer complaints sharply increased.
The exact causes of the incident are currently being investigated by specialists. Preliminary information suggests the driver may have lost control or misjudged the direction of travel.
At the moment, regional specialists from JSC “National Electric Networks” are working on-site. They are restoring the damaged support, reconnecting the wires, and stabilizing the electricity supply.
To stabilize the situation, energy is being supplied to certain areas through alternative channels. Temporary power has been provided to some facilities via generators.
Social media users have raised questions such as “why weren’t backup lines activated?” Energy officials emphasize that in such system-wide accidents, all processes are handled step-by-step.
It is noted that such incidents highlight not only technical problems but also the issue of driver responsibility.
Following the incident, several vehicles in transit stopped, and there are reports that traffic lights at some intersections stopped working.
Energy workers are working around the clock, using all available resources to restore stable electricity to the population. The necessary equipment and reserve materials have been delivered to the district.
In the official statement, it was emphasized that to prevent such accidents in the future, additional reinforcing infrastructure will be constructed in hazardous areas.
Although electricity has already been restored in some areas, it may take several more hours to complete work in others.
Apologies have been extended to consumers. The National Electric Networks, expressing regret for the temporary inconvenience, ask for patience and understanding.
