In Fergana region, another serious criminal case within the framework of the fight against drug addiction has come to an end. According to information, the Bagdad District Court reviewed the criminal case against a 26-year-old resident of Surkhandarya region. He was found guilty of attempting to sell narcotic substances and was sentenced by the court to 10 years of imprisonment.
Investigation materials state that on January 31, 2025, the defendant, together with his accomplice, chose an illegal path and planned to earn money by distributing narcotics. They agreed with each other, decided to sell hashish, and even found a customer. However, before the deal was completed, law enforcement officers caught them red-handed.
According to the information, the total value of the seized substance amounted to around 105 million soums. This situation alarmed not only investigators but also local residents, since the distribution of such a large quantity of narcotics could pose a serious threat to the health and lives of many people.
During the court session, the defendant expressed deep remorse for his actions. In his speech, he regretfully stated that he was worried about his family members and loved ones. However, the court panel, based on the requirements of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, classified his act as a serious crime and decided to sentence him to 10 years of imprisonment.
As for his accomplice, no separate information was provided, but within the framework of the case, appropriate measures are also expected to be taken against him.
