In the Yozyovon district of Fergana region, a fire that occurred in the morning prompted citizens to be cautious. According to reports, a truck carrying household appliances caught fire while moving along the road. This was reported by the regional Department of Emergency Situations.
The incident took place on October 10, at approximately 06:02, on the A-373 Andijan–Tashkent highway passing through the “Yangi Buston” mahalla. A “Volvo” brand truck suddenly caught fire while in motion.
According to eyewitnesses, smoke and flames suddenly appeared from the vehicle, attracting the attention of drivers along the roadside. Within a few minutes, the fire spread to the rear part of the truck and engulfed the cargo. It was reported that the vehicle was carrying household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions.
Emergency service personnel arrived at the scene 20 minutes after the call — at 06:22, and within only four minutes — by 06:26, the fire was completely extinguished.
As a result of the incident, there were no casualties among the driver or nearby people. However, the vehicle and part of its cargo were damaged by the fire.
Work is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary assumptions by experts suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit in the electrical system or a fuel leak.
According to the Fergana regional Department of Emergency Situations, the number of fires involving cargo and passenger vehicles on the roads has increased in recent months. The department calls on the public, especially drivers, to conduct timely technical inspections of their vehicles and to strengthen safety precautions while on the road.
