According to the report from the State Security Service’s press service, the corrupt activities of the management of a sports school in the Navoi region have been exposed. During an operational event conducted by employees of the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, violations committed by the director and the chief accountant of the children’s and youth sports school in the Navoi region were discovered.
It was revealed that they demanded a certain portion of travel expenses allocated to coaches for business trips to be returned to them. As a result, for athletics competitions held in Tashkent region in March and May of this year, they demanded a total of 16 million soums as a bribe from the coach out of the 40 million 722 thousand soums allocated for travel expenses.
The coach had taken 8 athletes to the competition. In the process of carrying out this scheme, the chief accountant transferred 10 million soums to the coach via bank card and took back 3 million soums in cash.
This criminal activity has been fully exposed. A criminal case has been initiated under the “Receiving a Bribe” article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with this incident.
