Fines for negative comments have started in Uzbekistan


Legal control over the behavior and comments of users on social networks is increasing in Uzbekistan. State bodies have begun to impose fines on a mass scale for leaving insulting and negative comments on the internet.

Insulting comments or defamation on the internet can lead to serious financial consequences. Fines for such violations can reach up to 13.2 million soums.

If this violation is repeated within a year, the amount of the fine can rise to up to 66 million soums. In addition, the affected party can demand compensation for moral damages of up to 1 billion soums.
